Southern California native Carrie Keyes has enjoyed many diverse life experiences, all of which have influenced her writings.
While in high school, Carrie served as a national spokesperson on behalf of Janis Gabay, the 1990 National Teacher of the Year. This experience helped Carrie appreciate the art of writing and literature, polish her public speaking skills and learn from her esteemed mentor. Most importantly, it inspired Carrie to write purposeful, dimensional pieces with a distinct voice.
Carrie is a graduate of Purdue University and Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she wrote and served as Chief Cases Editor of the nationally circulated Loyola Consumer Law Journal and received highest honors in both writing and oral advocacy.
A former attorney, Carrie litigated civil cases for State Farm Insurance Companies in Southern California for several years. She also worked as an adjunct professor of legal writing at Chapman Law School in Orange County.
Since having children, Carrie has favored motherhood and writing over the practice of law. She continues to polish her fiction manuscripts while working as a writer for http://www.blogcritics.org/, http://www.sandiego.com/ and http://www.coronado.patch.com/. You can find Carrie's blog at home and featured weekly at http://www.ecoronado.com/. She also maintains a blog devoted to promoting West Coast authors and books at http://www.quenchbookblog.com/.
Carrie resides in Coronado, California with her husband and two children. She is a proud member of many local organizations including the Coronado Yacht Club, Coronado Historical Association and Coronado Schools Foundation. She is represented by literary agent Sandra Bishop of MacGregor Literary.
